COMPAS Poll/Survey

CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS business panel favour by an overwhelming margin the federal government’s stepping in to block the sale of Potash Corporation to a Chinese Buyer. Panelists are concerned, but less so, about selling to an Australian buyer.

The top reasons to block the sale are that China is a Dictatorship, the suitor is a State corporation, profits would be directed from Canada to China, and especially because China does not observe patent and commercial laws.

These are the key findings from this past week’s Internet survey of CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS panel. The weekly business survey is undertaken for Canadian Business magazine under sponsorship of BDO Dunwoody LLP.
