CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS business panel foresee slow or no growth globally for about three years (table 2.3) with recovery beginning in about a year (table 2.1). The four major threats to the world economy are perceived to be, in descending order:
  • Risk of further problems in the European economy
  • U.S. economic risk,
  • Chinese economic risks, and
  • A war triggered by Iran
Serious economic risks in India and war involving North Korea are seen as less probable. These are the key findings from this past week's Internet survey of CEOs and business leaders on the COMPAS panel. The weekly business survey is undertaken for Canadian Business magazine.
